Evaluation of Biochemical and Clinical Parameters of Hypertension with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract: The aim of this study was to assess the basic biochemical and clinical characteristics of patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), office blood pressure (BP) and 24-h BP profile, their risk factors and associated comorbidities. Compared with non-diabetics, hypertensive patients with T2DM were older, with a longer duration of hypertension (5.9 vs. 4.7 years), greater office blood pressure and ambulatory BP values, increased incidence of multiple risk factors, target organ damage and cardi… Show more

“…Tissue pretreatment with glutaraldehyde or formaldehyde are factors that promote the calcification of the extracellular matrix because they have a certain toxicity and do not allow to fix uniformly all the constituent elements of this matrix [6,[13][14][15][16]. Similar effects of glutaraldehyde and its derivatives have been described for medical devices also in other fields of interventional procedures [17,18] Various studies have hypothesized that the inflammatory and the immunological responses [19][20][21] could also play a role in the mineralization process of bioprosthetic tissues. Antibodies against donor valvular tissue components have been found in patients with structural deterioration of the bioprosthesis.…”

“…Other chronic conditions associated with dermatological conditions, such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, are alarm signals because patients have cumulative factors that predispose to suicide (16). Insomnia (or lack of sleep due to dermatological conditions) is another important factor to be considered in the suicidal risk assessment.…”
