Evaluation of antipyretic activity of Belladonna and Pyrogenium ultrahigh dilutions in induced fever model

Abstract: Background Belladonna and Pyrogenium are commonly used to treat fever in homeopathy. But in vivo antipyretic activity of these medicines is not reported yet. The study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of ultrahigh dilutions of Belladonna (Bell) and Pyrogenium (Pyro) in fever model of rabbits induced by Baker's yeast. Methods Healthy, local strain rabbits (♂ and ♀) were divided into seven groups (n=42): Normal control, negative control, standard control, pyro 1000c, pyro 200c, Bell 1000c and Bell 2… Show more

“…Evidence of its power to control acute and intense fevers, 30 which are characteristic events of myiasis caused by C. hominivorax , reinforces the potential of Pyrogenium for treating this clinical condition. There is also its anti-bacterial power, 31 which is of great interest in this veterinary clinical context, since bacterial contamination is always a serious risk to an animal's health because these are open and very bloody wounds.…”

“…Baker's yeast fever model supports its clinical use in high fever cases with assured results. 14 16 During high fever, his blood sugar and BP shot up as GRBS-350 mg and BP as 180/110 mm Hg. At that time, Allium sativa Q 15 gtt in 1z water BD was given for 2 days, and an anti-syphilitic drug, Syphilinum 200, was used as an intercurrent to address the predominant syphilitic miasm in the case and to reduce the craving for alcohol.…”

“…Pyrogenium is used to reduce fever and blood poisoning (Kauser et al 1992). This homeopathic product reduces the levels of prostaglandins and cytokines that are related to inflammation (Ahmad et al 2018). Calcarea carbonica has been used…”
