For the detection of low radioactivities in chromatographic gels by X-ray films, increased efficiency was obtained by impregnating the gel with scintillating compounds (Wilson, 1958;Liithi & Waser, 1965;Randerath, 1970;Bonner & Laskey, 1974;Meeks et al, 1975).
