“…Kramer et al 39 noted in their study that soccer players were less likely to RTP, and those who were able to return did so later than athletes who return to other sports. Buerer et al 21 found no relationship between RTP timeline and sport, yet they did not describe the types of sports included in their study.…”

“…the clinical evaluation criteria applicable to joints repaired using the Broström-Gould technique are not yet standardized. Buerer et al (13), comparing four different scores, found a high rate of satisfaction in terms of articular mobility, albeit in the presence of a disparity of long-term outcomes. Cadaveric studies have shown greater mechanical stability obtained with the modified Broström technique as opposed to Watson-Jones and Chrisman-snook reconstructions (14,15), especially in competitive athletes, which encourages us to apply this method in this specific category of athletes in particular.…”

“…2 After surge1y, the patients were inunobilized in a walking cast for 4 weeks, were given low-molecular-weight heparin (Fragmin, Pfizer, AG, 8052 Zürich, Switzerland) as prophylaxis for deep vein thrombosis, and were encouraged to bear weight as tolerated. Further immobilization included a day and night ankle splint (ASO, Allenspach, Medical AG, 4710 Balsthal, Switzerland) for 4 weeks and only a night splint for 2 weeks.…”

“…The goal of the present study was to evaluate outcome measures for the treatment of a co1mnon foot and ankle abnormality-lateral ankle instability-and to compare the results obtained by 2 disease-specific and 2 body region-specific scores. The study aimed to explore 3 hypotheses: ( 1) A correlation exists between the 4 proposed scores, (2) …”
