Similarly, the preserved cat kidney model of Lozada-Gallegos et al 5 can be used by students to learn the technique of kidney ultrasound scanning, without the need for preliminary practice on live animal subjects. The orchiectomy simulator developed by Perez-Rivero et al, 6 with the inclusion of pressurised artificial blood, allows students to effectively practice their vascular ligation skills in order to reduce the risk of post-surgical haemorrhage in 'real-life' surgery scenarios.…”
