“…Our study further shows that the correlation between CWSI and crop yield changed with N fertilization levels, revealing that when CWSI is used in predicting crop water stress or estimating the yield, the equation between CWSI and yield should be established on the comparable N fertilization levels. Second, CWSI is a tool widely used in irrigation scheduling (Emekli et al 2007;Gontia and Tiwari 2008;Orta et al 2004;Yazar et al 1999), yet, this study showed that CWSI would also be used in N fertilization management strategy. The result demonstrates the mean threshold values of CWSI for corn in 2007 and 2008 were 0.20 and 0.23, respectively, beyond which further N fertilization significantly aggravated the reduction of corn yield.…”
