Background: A new French curriculum about anaesthesiology and critical care residency has started in November 2017 involving an autonomy phase supervised by seniors with main objective to prepare for the professional exercise. Since 10 years, Anaesthesia and Critical Care Department of Rouen University Hospital has established a similar process with autonomy practice supervised by senior doctor during the last year of residency. Our 5 th year training local program is therefore very closed from the new French anaesthesiology and intensive care residency curriculum. In our hospital, In order to project this supervised autonomy phase, the aim of this study was to assess the opinion of our former residents who benefited from our supervised autonomy phase during their last year of training. Methods: A standardized questionnaire was sent to all the residents trained in Rouen between 2004 and 2016 and who have been involved in supervised autonomy phase. Three areas were studied: the profile of responders, the practical and theoretical training received and the supervised autonomy phase. Results: The response rate was 84.1% (95/113). Theoretical and practical training was rated good or excellent for 93.7% of responders. The supervised autonomy status was noted to be positive by 94.2% of the respondents. The highlighted skills were autonomy, learning the organization of working time and preanaesthesia clinic. A majority (85%) of the residents reported having had little or no difficulty and 97% said that this status facilitated their position as a senior physician. This phase of

Introduction : La médecine d'urgence (MU) est une spécialité récente en France. Depuis 2004, la formation est validée par un diplôme d'études spécialisées complémen-taires (DESC). Aucune étude n'a évalué cette formation jusque-là au niveau national. Objectifs : Évaluer la formation en DESC de médecine d'urgence en France par les jeunes médecins en fin de cursus tant au niveau théorique que pratique. Matériel et méthodes : Enquête déclarative d'opinion. Un questionnaire évaluant la formation théorique et pratique a été envoyé entre juillet et septembre 2014 par courrier élec-tronique aux étudiants en fin de seconde année de DESC MU en France. Cinq domaines étaient abordés : profil des répondants, formation théorique, formation pratique, formation globale, post-internat et avenir en médecine d'urgence. Résultats : Le taux de réponses était de 47 %. La formation était jugée globalement bonne par 79 % des jeunes médecins et comme leur permettant d'améliorer leurs compétences pour 77 % d'entre eux. Si 69 % des répondants exprimaient que la formation théorique était de bonne qualité, ils étaient 56 % à penser que la formation pratique en quatre semestres était insuffisante. L'enseignement de plusieurs gestes techniques leur semblait insuffisant et 99 % estimaient néces-saire d'accroître la part de pédagogie par simulation. Bien que satisfaits par cette formation, seulement 40 % auraient choisi le DES de médecine d'urgence si celui-ci avait existé au moment de débuter l'internat. Discussion : Bien que satisfaisante, la formation des futurs praticiens doit évoluer afin de la renforcer sur un plan aussi bien théorique que pratique. Il semble nécessaire d'en allonger sa durée et de s'appuyer sur la simulation. Cela pourrait passer par la création d'un DES de médecine d'urgence. Cette première initiative d'évaluation nationale de la formation en médecine d'urgence devra être répétée pour contribuer à l'évolution et à l'essor de notre spécialité.
