“…The average EF values for the detected elements in PM 2.5 samples during the three sampling periods are reported in Table and displayed in Figure . The EF values of some soil‐related elements like Al, Si, Ti, and Fe were ≤3 during all sampling periods, indicating little or no anthropogenic influence as it was found in several cities of ARASIA (Arab countries in Asia) in a previous study . EF for Na, a sea‐salt tracer, was <2, and this is expected in a non‐coastal city like Amman (more than 60 km away from sea).…”

“…Samples were collected using ISAP® 1050e sampler, capable of collecting air particulate samples in three stages; fine particulate matter PM 2.5 , coarse particulate matter PM 10–2.5 (aerodynamic diameter between 2.5 and 10 μm), and particulate matter of aerodynamic diameter larger than 10 μm (>PM 10 ), with constant flow rate at 2.3 m 3 /hr. The three different stages of the ISAP sampler have been described elsewhere . Only PM 2.5 samples were collected on pre‐weighed and pre‐conditioned thin Teflon filters (47‐mm diameter, 46‐μm thickness, and 2‐μm pore size) supplied by PALL corporation .…”
