Evaluation and analysis of comprehensive performance of a brake pedal based on an improved analytic hierarchy process

Abstract: Due to the considerable increase in car parc and the remarkable improvement in vehicle properties and cost performance, higher requirements are being placed on driving comfort. With regard to the braking system, the enhancement of the brake pedal feel is one of the ways to improve the comfort, and affecting factors include spatial layout, dynamic characteristics, and the characteristics matching with the vehicle motion, so a comprehensive evaluation of a brake pedal is highly essential. This paper, by taking p… Show more

“…In the process of designing the fuzzy brake controller, the input variables select speed deviation e v and acceleration deviation e a ; the variation of the brake pedal stroke Δ s represents the output variable [ 20 ]. If the pedal does not change, the pedal stroke is 0%; the maximum pedal stroke is 100%, meaning that the brake pedal is fully depressed.…”

“…According to the knowledge and experience of experts in the corresponding fields, the subjective method compares, assigns, and calculates the importance of the evaluation indicators to determine the weight. Examples include the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) [3], the expert survey method (Delphi) [4], and the order relationship analysis (G1) method [5]. Subjective weight depends too much on expert experience.…”

“…Two categories of weight calculation methods are commonly used: subjective and objective. Subjective weighting methods include the analytic hierarchy process ( Zha et al, 2018 ; Zeng et al, 2022 ), G1 method ( Gu et al, 2021 ), and Delphi algorithm ( Dawood et al, 2021 ). Objective weighting methods include the entropy weight method ( Zeng, Gu & Peng, 2023 ), CRITIC weight method Yang et al (2020) and coefficient of variation method ( Guo, Xu & Shao, 2022 ).…”
