Evaluating the Effectiveness, Efficiency and Safety of Telemedicine for Urological Care in the Male Prisoner Population

Abstract: TM was shown to be a safe and effective method to provide general urologic care that obviated the initial in-person visits in nearly 90% of patients. It is likely that TM could safely replace in-person visits for many urologic conditions, especially in younger men and those in which access to specialized care may be limited.

Telemedicine may also reduce pollution and the greenhouse gases associated with travel to hospitals [17], as well as reduce apprehension regarding sexual and reproductive health consultations [18].…”

Urology sub-specialities comprised: uro-oncology (n = 6); general urology (n = 8); endo-urology (n = 2); and LUTS/incontinence (n = 2).…”

“…Constraint (8) controls that the capacity of each link should not be violated by the total amount of flows passing through it in both directions. Constraint (9) guarantees that all the requests of each node should be distributed through the network. Constraint (10) ensures that all requests of all nodes should be responded to.…”
