Background: Following a change in reporting structure, Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) in a Virginia hospital system provided patients with better care, cost savings, and almost doubled clinical nutrition staff from 2008 to 2013. Objective The study was conducted to determine if the administrative alignment of RDNs in their place of employment 1) allows them to perform to their greatest scope of practice and 2) influences job perceptions.Methods: A survey was developed and distributed nationally to CNMs and their coworkers. Statistical analyses: Using SPSS 24, univariate descriptive statistics and bivariate analyses were conducted. Contingency tables were generated and Pearson Chi-square tests and as appropriate Fishers’ exact tests were used to draw statistical inferences.Results: Respondents (n=508) represented four regions of the US with various job titles. Some reported to vice presidents of support services (34%) and others reported to vice presidents overseeing both clinical and support services (26%). Respondents, regardless of alignment, were either ‘satisfied’ (47%) or ‘very satisfied’ (36%) with their current positions. Most (74%) were in a nutrition department separate from food service. There was no difference in education (p=0.87) or pay (p=0.62) dependent on reporting structure. However, when RDNs reported to a clinical nutrition department, separate from food service, it was more likely that there was a clinical ladder for RDNs and there were more levels on the clinical ladder.Conclusion: This survey suggests alignment of a clinical nutrition department is associated with a higher likelihood that RDNs will have a clinical ladder to promote career advancement.

Objective: To critically evaluate the Quality Management System (QMS) for Clinical Nutrition (CN) in Jiangsu. Monitor its performance in quality assessment as well as human resource management from nutrition aspect. Investigate the appliance and development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical quality control.Data Source: The study source of this research was all the staffs of 70 Clinical Nutrition Department (CND) of the tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu Province, China. These departments are all members of the Quality Management System of Clinical Nutrition in Jiangsu (QMSNJ).Methods: An online survey was conducted on all 341 employees within all these CNDs based on the staff information from the surveyed medical institutions. The questionnaire contains 5 aspects, while data analysis and AI evaluation were focused on human resource information. Results: 330 questionnaires were collected with the respondent rate of 96.77%. The QMS for CN has been build up for CNDs in Jiangsu, which achieved its target in human resource improvements, especially among dietitians. The increasing number of participated departments (42.8%) and the significant growth of dietitians (p=0.02, t=-0.42) are all expressions of the advancements of QMSNJ.Conclusion: As the first innovation of an online platform for QM in Jiangsu, JPCNMP has been successfully implemented among QMS from this research. This multidimensional electronic system can help QMSNJ and CND achieve quality assessment from various aspects, so as to realize the continuous improvement of clinical nutrition. The instrument of online platform, as well as AI technology for quality assessment is worth to be recommended and promoted in the future.

An Analysis of the Corporate Social Responsibility and the Industry 4.0 with Focus on the Youth Generation: A Sustainable Human Resource Management Framework

The global movement around themes like sustainability on its triple bottom line and industry 4.0 allows for the establishment of a ground of connection with corporate responsibility towards society. This current research study was developed between 1 March 2019 to 2 September 2019, through a literature review involving human resources and terms related to the concept of sustainability, industry 4.0, corporate social responsibility, and the youth generation. Its target audience is the world’s youth generation. Two proposals were created after the literature review and data collection, which allowed the elaboration of “an analysis of the corporate social responsibility and the industry 4.0 with focus in the youth generation: a sustainable human resource management framework.” Regarding conclusions, the authors of this research study contribute with theoretical and practical educational purposes to insert the youth citizen into society. This contribution also involves the work of companies on planning and preparing their staffs to develop activities in the communities in their neighborhood. Future studies are stimulated, which will allow the creation of new proposals to be presented, so that the nations can incorporate their youth people on the transitional job market and have a sustainable view for the future generations.
