As corporations rely on collaborations with partners to enhance their competiveness, they use interorganizational information systems (IOIS) as a powerful tool to link with their partners in the supply chain. The purpose of this study is to measure IOIS performance in the supply chain. The proposed framework considers both internal and external organisational perspectives and is based on the balanced scorecard. This study also uses experts' pairwise comparisons in the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process approach to consider the relative weight or importance of diverse indicators of the framework. Then, this study applies the proposed framework to the Taiwanese information technology industry. The results provide references for managers and future researches when assessing IOIS performance in the supply chain. The proposed model can serve as a useful instrument for helping managers to better understand the main facets of IOIS performance, to be more capable of prioritising improvement projects, and to adopt the right solutions to enhance overall performance.

Purpose – Customization is a difficult task for many organizations implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The purpose of this paper is to develop a new framework based on customers’ requirements to examine the ERP customization choices for the enterprise. The analytical hierarchy process (AHP) technique has been applied complementarily with this framework to prioritize ERP customization choices. Design/methodology/approach – Based on empirical literature, the paper proposed an ERP customization framework anchored on the customer's requirements. A case study research method was used to evaluate the applicability of the framework in a real-life setting. In a case study with 15 practitioners working on the vendor's and the client's sides in an ERP implementation, the paper applied the framework jointly with the AHP technique to prioritize the feasible customization choices for ERP implementation. Findings – The paper demonstrates the applicability of the framework in identifying the various feasible choices for the client organization to consider when they decide to customize their selected ERP product. Research limitations/implications – Further case studies need to be carried out in various contexts to acquire knowledge about the generalizability of the observations. This will also contribute to refining the proposed ERP customization framework. Practical implications – Very few literature sources suggest methods for exploring and evaluating customization options in ERP projects from requirements engineering perspective. The proposed framework helps practitioners and consultants anchor the customization decisions on the customer's requirements and use a well-established prioritization technique, AHP, to identify the feasible customization choices for the implementing enterprise. Originality/value – No previously published research studies provide an approach to prioritize customization choices for ERP anchored on the customer's requirements.

Original scientific paper Multi objective optimization is an important issue in complex industrial problems. In this experimental study, optimum machining parameters are determined in turning operation of EN25 steel with coated carbide tools using combined Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. This technique is a multi-objective optimization method which has been adopted to simultaneously minimize micro hardness, surface roughness and maximize material removal rate (MRR). The result indicates the effectiveness of this approach. This method is applicable to all machining operations with greater number of objectives simultaneously. U ovom eksperimentalnom istraživanju, optimalni parametri obrade određivani su pri tokarenju EN25 čelika s alatima od tvrdog metalnog karbida primjenom kombinacije metode TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) i AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). To je metoda optimizacije s više ciljeva, primijenjena kako bi se istovremeno do minimuma smanjila mikro tvrdoća, površinska tvrdoća, a do maksimuma povećao učinak odvajanja čestica (MRR). Rezultat pokazuje učinkovitost tog pristupa. Ova se metoda može primijeniti u svim postupcima obrade s istovremeno većim brojem ciljeva.
