Europium doped Sr2YNbO6 double perovskite phosphor for photoluminescence and thermoluminescence properties

Abstract: A luminescent double perovskite phosphor Sr 2 YNbO 6 doped with Eu 3+ crystallized to the monoclinic phase and was synthesized successfully via a conventional hightemperature combustion method. The formation of the crystal structure, phase purity, and surface morphology were studied using X-ray diffraction patterns and scanning electron microscopy. The characteristic vibrations between the atoms of the functional groups present in phosphor were studied using Fourier transform infrared spectra analysis. The lum… Show more

“…The colour purity of the emitted red light was calculated using the following equation [49]: Color puritygoodbreak=()xsgoodbreak−xi2+()ysgoodbreak−yi2()xdgoodbreak−xi2+()ydgoodbreak−yi2goodbreak×100% where ( x s , y s ) and ( x i , y i ) are the CCC of the sample and the CIE white illumination point (0.3333, 0.3333), respectively, and ( x d , y d ) is the CCC of the dominant wavelength. The colour purity of all the calculated BLT:Mn 4+ samples was >97%.…”

“…The inset in Figure 9 shows excellent linear dose–response with ionizing radiation, which indicates that the generation of defect centres increases progressively with beta dose. The result obtained from the dose–response study indicates that the phosphor under study was the best candidate to be incorporated into TL dosimeters [46].…”
