Eu(III)-Functionalized MOF-Based Dual-Emission Ratiometric Sensor Integrated with Logic Gate Operation for Efficient Detection of Hippuric Acid in Urine and Serum

Abstract: With the introduction of Eu 3+ ions as the secondary fluorescent signal reporter and sensing active sites, a dual-emission ratiometric sensor of Eu 3+ @NiMOF (Eu 3+ functional NiMOF) for hippuric acid (HA) detection in urine and serum was fabricated via the postsynthetic encapsulating strategy. Based on the two emission signals at 441 nm (turn-on) and 628 nm (turn-off), the produced Eu 3+ @NiMOF ratiometric sensor provided enhanced sensitivity, higher selectivity, and 9.7 times lower limits of detection (LOD) … Show more

“…According to previously reported studies, Knoevenagel condensation could be catalyzed by activated MOFs because the existing Lewis acid–base sites play a key role in the polarization of two kinds of reactants. Through the excellent catalytic activity of NUC-67a and the structure analysis, the speculated cycloaddition mechanism is displayed in Figure . First, the Lewis acidic sites of Cd 2+ will generate van der Waals attraction to the electronegative oxygen atom of the aldehyde group, rendering the carbonyl atom of the aldehyde group an electrophilic site.…”

“…The triple helical chains in 1 associate in parallel to generate amine-functionalized chiral POV-based supramolecular open-frameworks with nanoscale channels. Moreover, benefiting from the tunable structure and high porosity, porous materials are attractive in the fields of gas capture and molecular detection. , Thus, gas adsorption properties and chiral interface recognition of 1 for small molecules are further investigated.…”

“…At the moment, there are several detection techniques for Hg 2+ , such as self-powered nanosensors, 8 spectrochim, [9][10][11] colorimetric sensors 12 and fluorescence. 13 Although these tests provide reliable and accurate results, most of them require strict implementation conditions such as precision instruments and professional operators.…”
