Abstract:This article reveals the etymology of the Spanish term “gazpacho”, which comes from the Latin adjective caccabaceus, derived from caccabus (‘cauldron’) and applied to a type of bread. Previously, the definitions published in various dictionaries and other works are reviewed, as well as the etymologies proposed from the Modern Age to the present day.
