Erosion of traditional knowledge (TK) is a worrisome issue that is faced globally due to the rapid urbanization and forest loss. Thus, it is vital to protect and preserve the traditional knowledge as it benefits many sectors, especially in pharmaceutical research. This study aimed to promote the traditional knowledge and plant conservation among UTHM students by developing an ethnobotanical garden online website. The ethnobotanical garden located at UTHM Parit Raja Campus was selected as the study site. An online survey was done to understand the students’ level of knowledge about the utilization of plants and evaluate the effectiveness of the website towards conservation and promotion of traditional knowledge. The Ethnogarden UTHM website was developed and a total of 23 plants were recorded on the website. A majority of the respondents understood the basic roles of plants in daily lives and the importance of conserving it, but 20% of them were disagreed with the statement of a high reliance on traditional herbal medicine and 37% of them were uncertain about it. After accessing the website, about 83% of the respondents agreed that the development of ethnobotanical garden website could deliver the traditional knowledge effectively and they would promote this website to their families and friends. In short, the development of Ethnogarden UTHM website is a good strategy to promote the traditional knowledge and emphasize the significance of plant conservation among UTHM students.

The paper discusses the resource portal of the Borneo's Biodiversity Information System (BBIS) from the point of view of the characteristics of efficiency and reliability performance. Data collection methods and tools use the observation approach that simulates 100 simultaneous users, logging every 10 seconds between random clicks on the URL site. Efficiency testing results based on 27 recommendations from Page-Speed instruments and 19 recommendation parameters from YS-low, obtained average scores on grade A. However, there were still 6 parameters related to system resource issues with score is grade F. Reliability test results referring to Jacob Nelson's equation approaches and Standard TELCORDIA reference. The result shows that the value of R = 0.988967 or the percentage of the reliability value is 98.89% and r = 0.011 or the error rate is 1.1%. The user threshold test results are found when the number increases to 500 users. The success of efficiency testing parameters significantly affects the percentage of performance reliability.

This paper is an effort to inform about the potential of medicinal plants in forest areas in the Borneo region. Given the high rate of destruction of rainforests on Borneo, literacy and conservation efforts of medicinal plants that are part of the forest ecosystem are important. This study developed BBIS, namely Borneo Biodiversity Information System. BBIS is the development of computer-based technology for managing information on Borneo's natural resource biodiversity in order to improve the knowledge management of medicinal plants. In particular, development of the Biodiversity Information System which can be used as an exploring media for exchange information society on Borneo's biodiversity. Profile biodiversity complete and well managed will be a reference in the process of monitoring the use of biological diversity, strategies, and plans related to the biodiversity of the medicinal plants on Borneo Island.
