“…The most important bioactive components are terpenoids, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, phenolic compounds, and alkaloids. Recently, furthermore, three major phenolic constituents isolated from the P. marsupium heartwood are marsupin, ptrerosupin, and pterostilbene [49]. Marsupin and pterostilbene substantially reduced hyperglycemic rat blood glucose levels [50].…”

“…So, antioxidants can play a vital role protecting the liver in paracetamol-induced liver injury . The phenolics contained in CEE as plant-derived compounds are stated as antioxidants that decrease different destructive processes in human beings owing to their capability to scavenge ROS and degrade its production or potentiate the production of antioxidant enzymes and their protective action …”

“…It's also said to be high in polyphenolic chemicals, which are thought to be important bioactive compounds. These chemicals have a wide range of biological action, including anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant activities, and antidiabetic activity [104][105][106][107]. Diabetic patients were given an extract of P. marsupium, which had a considerable anti-hyperglycemic effect.…”
