Ethernet based list processing controller for high speed data acquisition systems

Abstract: CAMAC standard crates and modules continue to be used for nuclear and high energy physics experiments and test setups. They provide unbeaten performance in high precision measurements, flexibility and simplicity in the design of modules. We have designed and fabricated a new type of CAMAC crate controller with list processing capability to maximize the data throughput, event rate handling capability, while simultaneously simplifying software development efforts for data acquisition systems, also maintain compl… Show more

“…The Ȗ-ray fold distribution was generated offline, from the 14 Time to Digital Converter (TDC) signals, using CANDLE [12] software. A Time-of-Flight (TOF) spectrum was generated using anode of MWPC as start and RF as stop.…”

“…Owing to the large capacitance, the energy resolution of this detector is not good enough for resolving α-particle energies of the nearby heavy residues. The data acquisition system CANDLE [13], developed at IUAC, is used in HYRA-related experiments and the data are acquired in a shielded cabin in the experimental hall.…”
