“…The same mechanisms were also found during the treatment of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea (AAD) with Xianglian pill (XLP), a traditional Chinese pharmaceutical preparation synthesized from BBR as a raw material ( 157 ). Centella asiatica (CA) is a traditional medicinal herb with a long history of anti-inflammatory application that was demonstrated to reshape the gut microbiota in UC mice by increasing the α-diversity and shifting the community by depleting colitis-associated genera to repair the intestinal mucosal barrier ( 154 ).
