(1) Background: In recent decades, the psychology of sport has gained special relevance in this field, due to the influence of psychological variables on sports performance and the regularity of sports practice. The aim of this research is to analyse the motivational climate of footballers. (2) Methods: This study uses a descriptive cross-sectional design on a sample of 156 adolescent football players, using an ad-hoc questionnaire for the recording of socio-demographic variables and the PMCSQ-2 questionnaire on motivational climate in sport. (3) Results: The results of the present investigation indicate that footballers are more oriented towards task than ego, sportsmen who compete in Honor Division being the those who are more oriented towards ego and those of National Division being more oriented towards task. (4) Conclusions: The main conclusion of this research is those who are the motivational climate is related to the division in which the players compete.

The objective of this study has been to examine the relationship between Perceived Motivational Climate, Sportspersonship, Disposition and Context where extracurricular physical activity is done. The participants were 256 6 th grade students. The questionnaires applied were: PMCSQ-2 (Orientation to Ego or Task), MSOS (Orientation to Sportspersonship), IEPA (Disposition) y AYES (Context). An instrumental and empirical study was made. On the instrumental study, factorial analysis was made and internal consistency of the questionnaires was verified. On the empirical study, extracurricular sports practise negatively correlates with Respect and Interest on Adversary factor; Regarding motivational climate, Ego Climate negatively correlates with every factor in a statistically significant way, except with Progression and Effort on training; Task Orientation Motivational Climate correlates with every factor, been this correlation negative with Ego Orientation Climate and with the Number of Hours of Weekly Training. Mean difference depending on gender shows that males give higher values on Ego Orientation Climate and females on Respect and Interest on the Adversary factor. Analysis of variance showed statistically significant results depending on the sport played, with higher values on Task Climate, Progression on Training and Respect and Interest on the Adversary for those who play artistic activities, on Interest on Training and Respect for Social Conventions for those who play opposition sports; depending on the amount of time for weekly sports practise, those who spend more than five hours per week give higher values on Task Climate and those who only spend one or

ResumenEl objetivo del trabajo es conocer el nivel de actividad física y la orientación motivacional en función del género, la edad y el tipo de deporte practicado en estudiantes. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 285 estudiantes (150 chicos y 135 chicas), con edades comprendidas entre los 11 y 18 años (edad media = 14.85 ± 3.42), a los que se les administraron los cuestionarios Physician-based Assessment and Counseling for Exercise y Goal Orientation in Exercise Scale. Los resultados mostraron que, el nivel de práctica de actividad física en los estudiantes es medio-bajo, siendo significativamente superior en los chicos que las chicas y disminuyendo con el aumento de la edad. Además, los practicantes de deportes colectivos mostraron niveles de actividad física más elevados que los practicantes de deportes individuales. Respecto a la orientación motivacional, no se encontraron diferencias significativas en función de la edad, el género y del deporte. Sin embargo, los chicos mostraron valores significativamente superiores de orientación al ego. Además, se encontró una asociación positiva y significativa entre la orientación hacia la tarea y el nivel de actividad física. Este trabajo supone una información útil para que el profesorado de Educación Física promueva estrategias motivacionales para incrementar los niveles de actividad física en los estudiantes.AbstractThe aim of this study is to know the level of physical activity and motivational orientation based on gender, age and the type of sport practiced in students. Sample was made up of a total of 285 students (150 boys and 135 girls), ages between 11 and 18 years (mean age = 14.85 ± 3.42 years), who were administered the questionnaires Physician-based Assessment and Counseling for Exercise y Goal Orientation in Exercise Scale. The results showed that the level of practice of physical activity in students is medium-low, which is significantly higher in boys than in girls, and decreases significantly with increasing the age. In addition, collective sports practitioners have higher levels of physical activity than individual sports practitioners. Regarding motivational orientation, no significant differences were found based on gender, age and type of sport. However, boys showed higher values of ego orientation than girls. Furthermore, a positive and significant association is found between task orientation and physical activity level. This work is very useful information for the Physical Education teachers to promote motivational strategies to increase the levels of physical activity in the students.
