Estudio bibliométrico de la revista archivos de medicina familiar y general de Argentina en el periodo 2011-2019

Abstract

To analyze bibliometrically publications made in the journal Archivos de Medicina Familiar y General. Material and methods: Descriptive study of the articles published between 2011 and 2019. Accessing the official page, we analyzed all articles, type, origin, topics, authors, and bibliography. Results: We analyzed 14 issues, with 82 articles. The collaboration index was 3.8 ± 5. Regarding the first author, 50.5% were male, but 6 on 7 of the interviews were conducted with men. 43% came from a university, and 84% from Argentina. The quantitative research reached 64.1%. 28 thematic fields were identified, the most frequent prevalent health problems and models of care. Regarding the bibliography, the Price Index had an average of 32 ± 27. Discussion: The topics of the articles respond to the field of the magazine. Productivity varied over the years. The collaboration index is similar to other medical journals, as is the type of articles published. The male gender predominated in the interviews, which is striking in a field where women are the majority. The country of origin of the magazine was the most productive, which is consistent with other studies. Conclusions: It is concluded that the magazine meets its objective. We consider that the link with universities is key to maintaining the productivity of the magazine. Work should be done to generate more possibilities for publications from other countries, as well as to stimulate the recognition of the feminine sector in the subject area of the magazine.
