Estimation of the rotation angle of gas/solid swirl flow by subpixel image resizing

Abstract: An original approach for higher accuracy estimation of the rotation angle of swirl flows based on low‐resolution images delivered by an industrial tomography system is proposed. The approach utilises artificial increasing of resolution of tomographic images, that is, image resizing. It is shown that the proposed approach can be successfully applied for low‐quality reconstructed images, and it gives at least 20% improvement of accuracy.
