Estimation and Optimization for System Availability Under Preventive Maintenance

Abstract: Engineers design systems to be reliable and work to fulfil their missions without failure for a specific period. However, the system components deteriorate with time and lead to its failures. A frequent system failure increases the management costs, hence posing a challenge to decision-makers. Therefore, for the avoidance of frequent system failures, preventive maintenance is necessary. The objective of any manufacturing firm is to maximize profit and minimize costs. The interval for preventive maintenance can… Show more

“…Goli and Golmohammadi [31] proposed a multiobjective mathematical model to determine locations and perform distributions in a closed-loop supply chain under competitive conditions. Alike, Raghav et al [32] explored a multiobjective mathematical programming problem to maximize the profit and minimize the cost function utilizing various methods for preventative system maintenance. Gupta et al [33] discussed the stratified random sampling with minimization of variance and solved it with IF programming.…”

“…Study on dependability metrics for the performance evaluation of mobile communication systems to evaluate the performance of phone communications and their reliability measures done by (16). Two systems with a singular unit that is subjected to randomly generating shocks that occur randomly was analysed by (17). Also, (18) discussed an analysis of the costs for two-unit warm standby models.…”

“…In the beginning, the combined probability density function (PDF) of several performance functions is used to develop the static and first-passage dynamic reliability formulas for the series, parallel and mixed systems. Raghav et al . (2022) developed a multiple-objective approach to improve the device's avail-ability while reducing its cost function.…”

Raghav et al (2022) developed a multiple-objective approach to improve the device's avail-ability while reducing its cost function. Goal programming (GP), fuzzy goal programming (FGP), genetic algorithms (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) techniques were used to solve the numerical examples.…”
