Abstract:The radial electric field is studied in tokamak-like plasmas using a simple one dimensional model. The simulation results show that in the core plasma region, the radial electric field generally follows the toroidal velocity term, whereas at the edge, the pressure gradient term is more significant. Simultaneously, the effect of the poloidal velocity term on the radial electric field is associated with the poloidal rotation velocity near the separatrix. In addition, the ambipolar radial electric field in the no… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
