Abstract:A decade ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared tuberculosis (TB) in a state of emergency in the world, which is still the leading cause of death from infectious disease in adults. According to WHO estimates, two billion people representing a third of the world population is infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
