Estandarización de la Cría Masiva de Apanteles gelechiidivoris Marsh (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) para el Control de Tuta Absoluta Meyrick (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae)

Abstract:
Show more

“…Among the reviewed species, ten can be considered of economic importance because they have been used or are currently commercialized as biological control agents of T. absoluta and other insect pests (Table 1): C. gelechiae, Copidosoma koehleri Blanchard, N. formosus, Trichogramma exiguum (Girault), T. fasciatum, T. minutum, T. nerudai Pintureau and Gerding, T. pintoi, T. pretiosum Riley, T. bactrae. Two species, A. gelechiidivoris and P. dignus, are under field evaluation in South American countries with promising results (Morales et al 2013;Bajonero 2017;Salas Gervassio 2017;Salas Gervassio et al in prep. ).…”

“…Dolichogenidea gelechiidivoris is native of South America, where it is considered as an important agent of biological control (Larrain 1987, Agudelo and Kaimowitz 1997; Vallejo 1999; Salas-Gervasio et al 2019). In Colombia, mass rearing protocols were developed to release this parasitoid for T. absoluta control (Morales et al 2013). Furthermore, in 2017 it was imported to Kenia from Peru to contribute to the control of T. absoluta in Africa (Aigbedion-Atalor et al 2020).…”
