Essential Trace Elements in Antioxidant Processes

Abstract: The antioxidant defense system is comprised of a number of interconnecting, and overlapping, components that include both enzymatic and nonenzymatic factors. The trace elements eu, Zn, and Mn are critical components for a number of these processes, and a deficiency of anyone of these elements can result in an impairment of the functioning of the overall antioxidant system.
