Essential Amino Acids, Vitamins, and Minerals Moderate the Relationship between the Right Frontal Pole and Measures of Memory

Abstract: Scope Nutrition has increasingly been recognized for its ability to help prevent and protect against disease, inspiring new programs of research that translate findings from nutritional science into innovative assessment tools, technologies, and therapies to advance the practice of modern medicine. A central aim in this effort is to discover specific dietary patterns that promote healthy brain aging and moderate the engagement of neural systems known to facilitate cognitive performance in later life. Methods a… Show more

“… 42 On the other hand, a growing amount of evidence has pinpointed the availability and metabolism of the essential amino acid, vitamins, and minerals nutrient pattern moderates the effect of brain structure on cognitive function in old age. 43 It is interesting to note that B. pseudocatenulatum showed positively associated with essential amino acid pathways such as L− isoleucine biosynthesis I (from threonine) L− valine biosynthesis L− lysine biosynthesis VI. The above information suggests that B. pseudocatenulatum can be a particular beneficial bacterium in the improvement of brain function through modulating the availability and metabolism of the essential amino acid as a key regulator of the gut-brain axis.…”

“…Emphasizing the importance of mineral nutrients for healthy brain aging, Key et al [28] stated in their results that a nutrient regime containing macro-and micronutrients softens the effect of brain structure on cognitive function in old age and supports the effectiveness of interdisciplinary methods in nutritional cognitive neuroscience for a healthy brain. In the article of Çetin et al [64], different researchers reported…”

“…According to the Bourre [63] and Key et al [28], nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and amino acids play a crucial role in ensuring proper brain function. Vitamins protect against inflammation and reactive oxidative species.…”

“…Aspartic acid regulates the metabolic function of the brain and nerves, and its substituted derivatives can be used as drugs for the treatment of neurological diseases and brain diseases. Aspartic acid can be also used to treat heart disease, liver disease, and hypertension because it has the function of preventing and treating fatigue. As a supplement for the nerve center and cerebral cortex, glutamic acid has a certain effect on the treatment of concussion or nerve damage, and epilepsy, and for children with mental retardation. Therefore, exploiting a quick and efficient chemical approach for recognizing and sensing of two kinds of acidic amino acids is very important. However, it is rare that the homochiral coordination polymer is used as chemical probe to detect acidic amino acids …”
