The current study aimed to determine how attitudes towards research are related to epistemic orientation, critical thinking, and satisfaction with research courses in psychology university students. Control variables included respondents' gender, current academic degree (undergraduate or postgraduate), number of research methods courses completed, number of research projects completed, and academic score. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was used, with a non-probabilistic sample size of 137 students. Correlational findings suggest that students with high scores in critical thinking domains and empiric and rational dispositions, tend to achieve higher academic grades. Rationality and reflexive skepticism were related to the number of research projects completed by the student. While an intuitive disposition is inversely related to academic scores and the number of research courses completed. Results from a hierarchical linear regression model suggest that attitudes towards research are significantly and positively affected by students' satisfaction with research courses, empiric epistemic orientation, and critical openness. On the other hand, an intuitive epistemic orientation has significant detrimental effects on attitudes towards research. Rational epistemic orientation and skeptic reflexiveness yielded non-significant coefficients. Overall, the model containing all independent variables accounted for 47.4% of the variance in attitudinal scores; this constitutes a large effect size. Results are discussed in light of previous research and their implications for the teaching of psychology in higher education.

Las actitudes hacia la investigación son un eje central del desarrollo de competencias investigativas y representan un campo emergente de estudio. El objetivo de este artículo es identificar los componentes de las actitudes hacia la investigación for-mativa en estudiantes vinculados a un grupo de investigación virtual. Se realizó un estudio exploratorio de tipo transversal para identificar dichos componentes. La muestra fue no probabilística y consistió en 32 estudiantes inscritos en un grupo de in-vestigación virtual. Los resultados indican una actitud positiva de los estudiantes hacia la investigación formativa, y se destaca la efectividad del grupo de como estrategia pedagógica para fomentar esta actitud. Asimismo, se encontró que el desarrollo de habilidades investigativas es fundamental para mejorar la calidad educativa. En conclusión, se recomienda seguir fomentando el desarrollo de habilidades investigativas para mejorar la calidad educativa y formar profesionales más competentes.

Los objetivos del estudio fueron determinar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala de Actitudes hacia la Estadística en México. En este estudio instrumental, se analizó una muestra no probabilística de 383 estudiantes de psicología mexicanos que respondieron a dos escalas actitudinales. El modelo bifactor definido por un factor general y tres factores específicos (seguridad, agrado-utilidad y motivación) mostró las mejores propiedades de ajuste a los datos y de validez convergente en sus modelos de medida. La actitud promedio fue neutra y más positiva en hombres que en mujeres. El factor general de actitud hacia la estadística tuvo correlación alta con actitud hacia la investigación. Se concluye el bifactor de tres factores representa mejor la relación entre los ítems que el modelo original de cinco factores correlacionados.
