Abstract:ER is a facultative, non-spore-forming, non-acid-fast, gram-positive bacillus. It is a ubiquitous commensal in wild and domestic animals, birds, and fish and has an enormous economic impact on animal husbandry and marine industry, causing animal erysipelas.
