Abstract

Nowadays besides tumourous diseases the illnesses of the cardiovascular organs, the heart and the blood vessels are the most common. The aim of this paper is to examine the vasodilator tool applied in case of the disorder of the coronary arteries. One of the most frequent ways to treat coronary artery diseases is to open the part of the vein mechanically with the help of a catheter. The guidewire is lead into the human body through the sheath, through which the implantation of a stent can also be managed. Stents are net-walled biocompatible pipes usually made of metal or polymer, and are most often inserted in blocked veins. The vasodilator sheath is a thin polymer pipe, through which the catheter is led and the procedure or the examination is performed. The aim of this work is to investigate the causes of a problem that occured when using a vasodilator tool during a surgery. The means was tested both destructively and nondestructively and the results were evaluated.
