Error control on spectral data of four‐wave mixing based on a‐SiC technology

Abstract: In this paper we exploit the nonlinear property of the SiC multilayer devices to design an optical processor for error detection that enables reliable delivery of spectral data of four‐wave mixing over unreliable communication channels. The SiC optical processor is realized by using double pin/pin a‐SiC:H photodetector with front and back biased optical gating elements. Visible pulsed signals are transmitted together at different bit sequences. The combined optical signal is analyzed. Data show that the backgr… Show more

“…Taking into account Figure 3, the encoder takes four input data bits [R G B V] to which corresponds one of the possible 16 sublevels and generates three additional parity bits [7]. i.e., the parity bits are SUM bits of the three-bit additions of violet pulsed signal with two additional bits of RGB [10] and are given by:…”

“…Subsequently, narrowband (NBDP) and single sideband (SSB) technologies were gradually applied to communication between ships and shores. Vieira et al [1] pointed out that the GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) conference was held at the IMO London headquarters in November 1988. Through this conference, the foundation of modern maritime communications was laid.…”

“…The PRONAVI system divides and adjusts 24h to the optimal statistical time interval using the description minimum length principle. For workdays and rest days, the best statistical time interval is determined according to the principle of minimization (equal to the approximate error + model complexity) described in formula (1).…”
