Erratum: New contributions to neutralino elastic cross sections fromCPviolating phases in the minimal supersymmetric standard model [Phys. Rev. D 59, 055009 (1999)]

Abstract: We compute the four-Fermi neutralino-quark interaction Lagrangian including contributions from the CP violating phases in the MSSM. We find that neutralino-nucleus scattering crosssections relevant for direct detection experiments show a strong dependence on the value of the CP-violating phase associated with the µ parameter, θ µ . In some cases, for a broad range of non-zero θ µ , there are cancellations in the cross-sections which reduce the cross-section by more than an order of magnitude. In other cases, t… Show more

“…There are no differences between the effective Lagrangians we and others [8,16,17,18] use to describe the four-fermion χ − q interaction that determines the elastic χ − p, n scattering cross sections. We have found differences of detail between our and other treatments of the hadronic matrix elements of the scalar and axial-currentqq operators appearing in this Lagrangian [27], but this is not responsible for any big difference between the results.…”

“…The formal error in y derived from (16) and (17) is actually ±0.2, which would double the error in B d /B u . We have chosen the smaller uncertainty because we consider a value of y in excess of 30% rather unlikely.…”

“…However, independent of specific high energy realizations, the lowenergy Lagrangian happens to depend on several soft phases whose physical combinations can always be chosen to be those of the µ-and A-parameters. These phases have found interesting applications in various areas of the particle phenomenology: EDM's of particles [5], LSP searches [6], K-and Bphysics [1,7], electroweak baryogenesis [8], weak and electromagnetic dipole formfactors [9], and Higgs phenomenology [10,11].…”
