Show more

“…The temperature homogeneity is quite important to avoid detection of a misleading transient Bauschinger effect. Former experimental results indicate that the temperature is homogeneous in the tested zone along the axial direction [18,19]. Although considerable temperature gradients are not expected in the radial direction due to the small thickness of the specimen, temperature measurement on both surfaces was not possible due to equipment restrictions.…”

“…In contrast to other steel grades with a different carbon content foils made of C100 are commercially available in a thickness below 100 lm which fulfils the CRC 747 internal definition of micro sheets. This material was also chosen because of the chemical similarity to the bearing steel grade 100Cr6 with its very comprehensive data set [6,7] for thermal as well as transformation simulation. The material properties of the C100 and the 100Cr6 are considered to be sufficiently equal to get the necessary results for the for the design of process experiments.…”

“…austenite, martensite) may differ about 1% (see e.g. [85,86]). In some cases, if high accuracy is required, this small differences may cause distortion of workpieces.…”
