Erfassung von Krankheitsangst mit dem Multidimensional Inventory of Hypochondriacal Traits (MIHT)

Abstract: Zusammenfassung. Show more

“…The four MIHT subscales assess disease conviction (cognitive scale), reassurance-seeking (behavioral scale), somatic awareness (perceptual scale), and hypochondriacal worry (affective scale). Good reliability and validity both in the normal population and in clinical samples have been found for the original and the German version (Witthöft, Haaf, Rist, & Bailer, 2010;Witthöft, Weck, & Gropalis, 2014). Cronbach's α varied between .96 for the total score and .88-.95 for the subscales in this study.…”

“…The Multidimensional Inventory of Hypochondriacal Traits (MIHT, Longley et al 2005; German: Witthöft et al 2010Witthöft et al , 2015b) is a 31-item self-report instrument for the dimensional assessment of health anxiety that displays excellent reliability and validity (Longley et al 2005;Witthöft et al 2010). It uses a five-point scale ranging from 1 (''strongly disagree'') to 5 (''strongly agree'') and consists of four subscales that cover cognitive, behavioural, affective and perceptual aspects of health anxiety.…”

“…It assesses cognitive, behavioral, affective, and perceptual aspects of health anxiety. For the German version Cronbach's α coefficients took values within the range of .75 to .89 [28]. In the current sample Cronbach's α concerning MIHT total score was .81.…”
