Erbb is linked to the alpha-globin locus on mouse chromosome 11.

Abstract: A fragment of the human gene for c-erb-B was used to map homologous sequences in mice. Analysis of somatic cell hybrids and recombinant inbred and congenic mouse strains indicated that this gene, designated Erbb, is closely linked to the gene for alpha-globin on mouse chromosome 11. Several genes controlling hematopoietic differentiation map to mouse chromosome 11.

“…Localization of Fis-J to mouse chromosome 7 proves that Fis-J is distinct from several oncogenes and common integration regions implicated in tumorgenesis by long-latency retroviruses but known to be on other chromosomes. These include myc (10), Myb (28), erbA and erbB (31,39), Int-i (22), Mlvi-i (15), Mlvi-2 (38), and Mis-i (R-Mo-int-i) (C. Kozak and P. Jolicoeur, unpublished data). Fis-i also appears to be distinct from Pim-1, a common integration region for Moloney virus in murine lymphomas, based on published restriction enzymes maps (5).…”

“…In con trast, genes on MMU II, whose homologs map to chromosomes other than 17 in the human (HSA), are located in the proximal region, e.g., Erbb (on HSA 7) and Uba («-globin complex) (on HSA 16) (Davisson and Roderick. 1981;Silver et al. 1985).…”

“…Four loci from this map, Hba, DZb-1, Hox-2, and Es-3, then were used as anchor loci for building a multilocus map of the same chromosomal region from Eu data. The loci Gfup and Cnp then were placed at their optimal positions in this second map (Table III [Taylor, 1981;Taylor et al, 1985;Silver et al, 1985;Cobb et al, 1987;Taylor, 1987;Buchberg et al, 1988; H a r t et al, 19881. The most likely order and spacing of the markers consistent with the overall map of the chromosome (Fig.…”
