RESUMOEste trabalho apresenta uma aplicação alternativa do Método dos Elementos de Contorno (MEC) para análise linear de chapa anisotrópica. Neste trabalho esta consideração faz-se expressando-se as constantes elásticas anisotrópicas como a soma dos valores isotrópicos com valores da diferença entre os dois valores, anisotrópicos e isotrópicos. Consideram-se também as variáveis de domínio pela discretização por células. Neste trabalho apresenta-se a formulação completa para análise linear e exemplos numéricos para discussão. Palavras chave: Método do Elementos de Contorno; Anisotropia; Análise elástica bidimensional. ABSTRACTThis work presents a Boundary Element Method (BEM) formulation considering anisotropy to analyse 2D problems in elasticity. The isotropic fundamental solution is used and the anisotropic properties are introduced by a residual elastic tensor. Numeric examples are presented to evaluate the proposed application, which results are compared with analytical values. Keywords: Boundary Element Method, anisotropy, 2D elasticity problems INTRODUÇÃOEste trabalho visa a aplicação do Método dos Elementos de Contorno na análise de estruturas de alvenaria, composta por dois materiais, tijolos ou blocos e argamassa de assentamento. A disposição destes componentes faz com que este tipo de estrutura tenha uma ortotropia geométrica inicial. Por tratarem-se de materiais frágeis, requerem uma análise numérica não-linear, em que modelos de dano ou de fratura devam ser utilizados para melhor representar o comportamento estrutural próximo da ruptura.Neste contexto, a modelagem numérica confiável pode trazer grandes benefícios futuros, procurando o conhecimento do comportamento deste tipo de elemento estrutural quando solicitado a carregamentos usuais, sem a necessidade de se realizarem ensaios de laboratórios, com redução de custos e de prazos, portanto.Mais especificamente sobre a pesquisa em modelagem numérica de Alvenaria Estrutural, baseiase exclusivamente no Método dos Elementos Finitos (MEF). Neste contexto, diversos aspectos são importantes para obtenção de resultados confiáveis: além da caracterização (e conseqüente definição dos parâmetros numéricos) dos materiais componentes da alvenaria, a escolha do método numérico (e suas particularidades) e dos modelos matemáticos (linear ou não, dano ou fratura, discretização e homogeneização do sólido, iso, orto ou anisotropia) a serem utilizados são relevantes.

Determination of the numerical parameters of a continuous damage model for the structural analysis of clay brick masonry

Models based on the continuous damage theory present good responses in representing the nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete structures with loss of strength and stiffness of the material. However, damage theory is rarely employed in the analysis of masonry structures and numerical simulations are currently performed mostly by Finite Element Method formulations. A computational program was designed to determine the numerical parameters of a damage model of the physical properties of masonry components, solid clay brick and mortar. The model was formulated based on the composition of tensile and compressive surface strengths in the plane stress state. The numerical parameters, the corresponding curves of the activation surfaces and the evolution of the surfaces are presented. The results were fed into the computational program based on the Boundary Element Method (BEM) for the simulation of masonry walls, and two types of masonry were simulated. The results confirm the good performance of the model and the program based on the BEM.
