“…Although the overlapping of Sb 3d and O 1s photo-electron peaks, deconvolution of O1s þ Sb 3d 5/2 spectra yielded two peaks: peak I (529.6 eV) and peak II (530.8 eV). The spectra of peak I was assigned to Sb(III) species (Kameda et al 2015), and peak II might be assigned to oxygen atoms in iron oxides (Basly et al 2013). Therefore, it can be inferred that when ferrous lactate was used as iron source for IOB-L, most of Sb(III) was adsorbed to generated biogenic iron oxides, and did not oxidized to Sb(V).…”

“…Therefore, the researchers focused on discovering cheap, environmentally friendly, simple and efficient manganese removal methods. The layered double hydroxide (LDH) materials for removal of manganese can be synthesized in the laboratory by simple and economical methods (e.g., incipient impregnation [8], hydrothermal routes [9], dropwise addition of a chloride solution [10], hydrolysis [11], solar light irradiation [12], co-precipitation [13], ionic exchange, direct co-precipitation and structure reconstruction after calcination [14]). Wimonsong et al [8] report the preparation of different Au/Fe-Zn-Mg-Al-O hydrotalcite (HT) supported Au catalysts by a co-precipitation method.…”

“…They demonstrated that these core-shell hybrid arrays exhibit good rate capability with a long cycle lifetime. Kameda et al [10] studied the equilibrium and kinetics in order to determine the effect of Fe 2+ -doped Mg-Al LDH on the removal of As(V) and Sb(V) from an aqueous solution. Sepehr et al [11] synthesized magnesium (Mg)/aluminum (Al) layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoparticles by hydrolyzing urea and used them to remove metronidazole (MN) from aqueous solution.…”

“…The LDH structure is characterized by positive octahedral brucite-like layers, where the excess of positive charge is due to the isomorphic substitution of M 2þ with M 3þ , alternating with negative interlayers containing anions and a variable quantity of water (Cavani et al, 1991). These compounds are widely studied, both untreated and calcined, for the removal of anionic pollutants from water thanks to the high anion exchange capacity of untreated phases and the high sorption capacity of calcined ones (Li and Duan, 2006;Carriazo et al, 2007;Goh et al, 2008;Lv et al, 2009;Ardau et al, 2011Ardau et al, , 2012Kameda et al, 2015;Frau, 2018, 2019;. Moreover, LDH can be effective removers of cationic pollutants by (co)precipitation and adsorption (Park et al, 2007;Liang et al, 2013).…”
