In the juvenile stage, turbot feeds on fine crustacea and molluscs, while in open seas it also feeds on polychaetes (Markowski 1935, Novoa et al 1992, Jackowski 2002, Nissling et al 2007). Nissling et al (2007) report that fish of a length less than 3 cm, feed on copepods from Calanoida and Harpacticoida orders, while individuals of dimensions 3.0-6.7 cm feed mainly on crustacea belonging to the Mysidacea order, and those exceeding 5.5 cm have an increased proportion of isopods in their diet, and also started to feed on juvenile fish represented by gobies and three-spined sticklebacks Gasterosteus aculeatus (Linnaeus, 1758).…”
