“…Overall, the hydrothermal fluids of Arinem appear to have an isotopic composition similar to that of the majority of volcanically hosted epithermal precious metal deposits of low-sulfidation type in West Java, such as Pongkor (Basuki et al, 1994), Cibaliung (Harijoko et al, 2007) and Cikidang (Rosana and Matsueda, 2002). Other low-intermediate sulfidation Au-Te-bearing deposits world-wide also show similar isotopic compositions, including Tongyoung (Shelton et al, 1990), Creede (Bethke et al, 1973), and others (as described in Field and Fifarek, 1985;Ohmoto, 1986;and Henley, 1991).…”

“…The most notable feature of these plots is that the majority of the fluids from the Arinem vein have a relatively low δ 18 O value (mostly less than −1.7‰) and a fairly narrow range of δD values (−66 to −34‰). The hydrothermal fluids appear to have an isotopic composition that is markedly similar to that of the majority of volcanically hosted precious metal epithermal deposits of low-intermediate sulfidation type (Field and Fifarek, 1985;Ohmoto, 1986;Henley, 1991). The δ 18 O values of fluid inclusions in quartz from mineralization stages I to III in the Arinem veins point to paragenetically mixed sources of magmatic and meteoric waters.…”

“…In LS and IS epithermal ore systems the deposition of silica occurs in different textures, many of which are diagnostic of and the result of the processes that deposit the Au and Ag ore. Near surface boiling is reported by some researchers (Henley, 1991 and references therein) to account for metal deposition. Boiling destroys the Au(HS) 2 complexes that transport metal in Au-dominated deposits, and in Agbase metal systems, where Cl-complexing is predominant, changes in temperature and pH accompanying boiling also reduce metal solubility.…”
