Abstract: Epithelial cells form a crucial barrier against harmful microbes and inflammatory stimuli. Restraining inflammatory responses at the corneal barrier is necessary for avoiding sight-threatening tissue damage. Yet, epithelial cell-intrinsic mechanisms that dampen inflammation are largely unexplored.
