Abstract:Thymidine analogs have long been recognized for their ability to randomly incorporate into DNA. However, their significance in the chemical induction of pluripotency (CIP) remains unclear. Here, we investigated the impact of BrdU/IdU incorporation on the transition of cell fate through DNA damage repair (DDR). Our findings reveal a substaintial upregulation of reprogramming mediator gene H3K27ac and H3K9ac, as well as global DNA demethylation in response to DDR. This process creates a hypomethylated environmen… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
