Objective Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are devastating injuries and represent a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Traffic accidents are one of the main causes, especially in low- and middle-income countries. The epidemiology of TBI due to road traffic in Latin America is not clearly documented. Methods A narrative review was conducted using PubMed, SCOPUS, and Google Scholar, looking for TBI studies in Latin America published between 2000 and 2018. Seventeen studies were found that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results It was found that TBI due to road traffic accidents (RTAs) is more frequent in males between the ages of 15 and 35 years, and patients in motor vehicles accounted for most cases, followed by pedestrians, motorcyclists, and cyclists. Conclusion Road traffic accidents is a common cause of TBI in Latin America. More studies and registries are needed to properly document the epidemiological profiles of TBI related to RTAs.

“…U literaturi se mogu naći podaci koji ukazuju da se najveći proce-nat povreda u saobraćaju dešava u vremenskom periodu između ponoći i 6 ujutru. 12 Pojedina istraživanja beleže veću učestalost povređivanja u saobraćajnim nesrećama osoba muškog pola 13,14 kao i na ulici, radnom mestu, sportskim objektima.4 Prema našem istraživanju, intervenisalo se na terenu tokom noći kod osoba mlađe životne dobi, a kod starijih češće tokom dana. Mladi su tokom noći aktivniji, što dovodi i do češćeg povređivanja.U statističkoj obradi nismo razmatrali traumu po danima u nedelji, te ne možemo zaključiti da li je ova pojava učestalija tokom vikenda.…”

CILJCilj rada je ispitati vremensku i polnu distribuciju trauma događaja, te utvrditi učestalost zbrinjavanja traume na terenu i ambulantno. MATERIJAL I METODEObrađivani su podaci iz registra EuReCa_Srbija-Trauma Programa (ESTP), opservacione prospektivne studije formirane i postavljene od strane Resuscitacionog Saveta Srbije. Analizirani podaci su o pacijentima koji su doživeli trauma događaj i zbrinuti su od strane hitne medicinske pomoći (HMP) ambulantno i na terenu u 10 centara iz Srbije u periodu 1. 09.2018. -31.12.2018. Analiza podataka rađena sa IBM SPSS Statistics 20. REZULTATIESTP beleži ukupno 3396 intervencija od kojih se 35.8% odnosilo na intervencije na terenu, a 64.3% na ambulantne preglede. Muškaraca je bilo statistički značajno više (58.8%) nego žena (41.2%).Nije postojala značajna polna distribucija intervencija na terenu i u ambulanti. Žene su bile starije životne dobi (Z=-10,843; p = 0,000). Postojala je značajna razlika po polu u vremenskom periodu intervencija na terenu i ambulanti (χ2=23.310; df = 3; p = 0,000). Kod muškaraca se više intervenisalo na terenu noću (10,1% vs. 6%), a kod žena prepodne (35% vs. 30,1%). ZAKLJUČAKHitna medicinska pomoć zbrinjava više pacijenata sa traumom u ambulantnim uslovima nego na terenu. Postoji razlika po polovima i intervencijama tokom dana i noći. Osobe muškog pola se češće povređuju noću.Najveći broj trauma događaja se registruje u prepodnevnim i ranim popodnevnim satima.Žene starije životne dobi su izloženije povređivanju. Potrebno je dalje praćenje epidemioloških podataka kako bi pratili uzroke i faktore rizika koji dovode do navedenih nejednakosti.
