Abstract: Objectives For a long time, axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) was routinely performed in patients with an involved sentinel lymph node (SLN). However, in 30 to 50% of cases, the non-sentinel lymph nodes (NSLN) were not involved, and these patients would have suffered the morbidity of ALND excessively.
