Abstract

Biogeosciences 1-year non-tenure Track Appointment. Boston University. The Department of Geography and Environment at has an opening to teach undergraduate Physical Geography and Environmental Science courses. The teaching load will be two courses per semester. Specific courses will include (1) a freshman course in weather and climate, (2) a freshman course in geomorphology, soils, and vegetation; (3) an upper division course in atmospheric science; and (4) an upper division course in biogeography. The successful candidate will have a 9-month faculty appointment as a visiting assistant professor. Postdoctoral GeochemistryICPMS/IRMS Instrument Technician. The Department of Geology at the University of South Florida seeks a technician for a new geochemical analytical facility, which will include ICP-MS and IRMS instrumentation. The successful candidate should have expertise in both plasma-and gassource mass spectrometry and will be responsible for the maintenance of both instruments and support equipment. Additional duties include dayto-day oversight of the laboratory equipment, the supervision of researchers, students and visitors working in the laboratory and the development, refinement and application of new analytical methodology. Applicants should have a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in geosciences, analytical chemistry or closely related field, and a strong background in analytical geochemistry. Several years of experience with plasma-and gas-source mass spectrometry instrumentation are required and experience with LC-MS is a plus.
