Abstract:The nitrate ester, formed by reaction with fuming nitric acid in acetic anhydride at 0 'C, was suitable to block free hydroxyl groups in partially acetylated sugars without acetyl migration. This allowed the acetylated positions in partially acetylated mono-and disaccharides to be located by the reaction sequence: nitration, deacetylation, methylation, de-nitration, disaccharide hydrolysis and methyl glycosylation (initial product identification by paper partition chromatography), acetylation, and analysis of … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
