Abstract:In recent years, there has been a steady increase in the interest in changing lignocellulose processing technologies from harmful and nonecological to more ecological and sustainable. Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) and ionic liquids (ILs) are green, efficient solvents/catalysts for biomass pretreatment as well as its further transformation. In many cases, they are used together with biocatalysts. Additionally, in processes where DESs and ILs are used for the pretreatment of biomass, before enzymatic transformat… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
