Environmental Factors of Knowledge Management Model for Implementation and Adoptation in the Construction Industry

Abstract: This paper presents a knowledge management (KM) environmental factor model that encompasses a set of the hypothesized model for KM environmental factor and measurement models for adaptation and application. Two hundred and fourty five questionnaire surveys were administered for the research. The hypothesized model of KM environmental factor was ISSN 2329-9150 2016 http://jsss.macrothink.org 252 tested using structural equation modeling approach with a proposed model developed. Five constructs of KM environmen… Show more

“…The findings empirically demonstrated that perceived environmental support and knowledge sharing somewhat mediated the relations between perceived SE and employee job performance when applying the mediator concept of Baron and Kenny (1986). Perceived environmental support plays a role as a mediator which facilitates employees to express their ability and be willing to perform and deliver output to the organisation (Eisenberger et al, 2002;Pogan, 2014;Idris et al, 2016;Yaakobi and Weisberg, 2018). The knowledge sharing factor plays a role as a mediator by facilitating the willingness of employees to share data, information or knowledge in the workplace to enhance their capability to work responsibly and meet targets assigned by departments or organisations (Li, 2013;Kang et al, 2008;Lee et al, 2012;Ritala et al, 2016;Kwahk and Park, 2016).…”

“…The environment facilitates employees to express their behaviours and be willing to mutually share knowledge. In addition, Idris et al (2016) found that preparation or arrangement of a suitable atmosphere supported and strengthened management of knowledge sharing among employees. Moreover, Eisenberger et al (2002) found that perceived environmental support helped employees to behave effectively as expected by the administration.…”

“…To select a suitable estimate in structural equation modelling (SEM), the normality distribution of the interval variables was determined by employing the statistical techniques of skewness and kurtosis tests (Idris, Richard and Waziri 2016). A nonnormality is presumed for a set of data when the values for the skewness or kurtosis are greater than the accepted values of two and seven (Kline 2005).…”
