Abstract: This work presents an integrated overview of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons’ (PAHs) ubiquity comprising environmental contamination in the air, aquatic ecosystems, and soils; characterizes the contamination in biota; and identifies main biomonitors and human exposure to PAHs and associated health risks.
