Musonye et al [25] developed a new national-scale, bottom-up energy system optimization model referred to as the Kenya-TIMES model to evaluate the implications of GHG emissions reduction on the techno-economic and environmental evolution of Kenya's power system during the period from 2020 to 2045. The results show that in order to meet its emission reduction targets, the Kenyan government needs to develop and implement policies to enhance the use of renewable energy technologies.…”
